The primary purpose of the Pecos Valley Society of Model Trainmen (PVSMT) is to enjoy the hobby of model railroading
for our members. This is paramount, because when a hobby stops being fun then it is no longer a hobby for enjoyment
and relaxation. Toward this end, we encourage members to learn and grow with the hobby and to gain from the experience
and expertise of fellow members. Interested in becoming a member?
PVSMT's HO scale layout operates from our longtime home located within the Eastern New Mexico State Fairgrounds in
Roswell, New Mexico. Please read the history of our Club. Maintaining our location and
continuing the building of the Club layout are our primary responsibilities, as well as running trains for the public
during Fair Week in October.
During Fair Week, we have six big trains, each featuring 40+ Merchant Cars representing eastern New Mexico businesses
and organizations, running every day from noon to 9:00pm (6:00pm on the last day).
We meet regularly on Saturday mornings at 9:00am to work and operate. Our monthly business meeting takes place on the second
Saturday of the month at 9:00am sharp.
